CANADIAN CROSSROADS INTERNATIONAL (CCI) BARTICA LOCAL COMMITTEE

Canadian Crossroads International (CCI) was introduced to Guyana in the 1970's operating in Linden, Essequibo Coast and Georgetown for over twenty years. It's expansion to Bartica came in 1995 when the National Committee was seeking possible September 1996 to Canada recruits. One person responded, Ms Rita Brouet, thereby being the first Bartician to have the Crossroads experience in Canada in September to December 1996.

In January 1997, Rita was challenged to start a group, in Bartica. In October 1997 a local committee was established after arrival of the first batch of overseas Crossroaders to Bartica in September1997.
Since that time CCI Bartica has become one of the most dynamic Non Government organization (NGO) in Bartica. It has attracted over twenty five volunteers, and is instrumental in motivating other organizations in to action.
